To measure a targeted VOC, a known correction factor is applied to calculate the relative value from isobutylene that is used for the sensor calibration. However, to avoid a cross interference no other VOCs should be present in the monitoring environment. For greater accuracy the sensor can be calibrated to the target VOC using a calibration gas of the target compound.
