I believe the sensor you are refering to is the barometric pressure sensor. There is no cleaning procedure for this sensor. Normally this item is just replaced. If this sensor is gummed up, I would see no problem with cleaning it with a small amount of CRC electric parts cleaner, allowing for it to dry and then reinstalling it.
