Oct 02, 2014· one has vararam cold air intake system, expensive but is a true cold air intake. I can let that car run in the parking lot all day and iat will never deviate from ambient more than 56 degrees. Now take car two, has air raid cai, cheap over the counter autozone special idling in parking lot iat reaches temps of 195205.
Nov 27, 2019· – Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor () – Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor – Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor – Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor – Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor () – Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor – Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) – Catalyst Monitor Sensor (CMS) – Wheel speed sensor
Most vehicles have their IAT = Temp sensor located on the air intake track of the vehicle. It will have 2 wires going to a plug mounted on the air intake track or air intake manifold of most vehicles.. If you cannot find your IAT and your car is 2000+ , then it maybe built into your MAF = Mass Air Flow meter and will have 45 wires going to it.
Dec 09, 2017· On my intake there are 2 ports at the front of the intake, one on each side of the thermostat. I have a temp sender inThe drivers side port and ineed to add another temp sender. Is the other port on the passenger a good place to pick up the temp from and are the Shari g the same space/fluid? It is next to the heater core line. Thanks!
Feb 27, 2013· A new "fancy" air intake may look better, but your car will run best if everything is factory specification and working as designed. As for an Intake Air Temperature Sensor, different temperature air ignites better or worse. The engine computer needs to know this information to adjust things properly.
Jun 25, 2016· Some V8s with intakes on top of the block between the V can have intake air temps around 180F! But also consider, if you do your tuning with the air temp sensor at the air filter, your VE table will take into account the average temperature rise because you tune with respect to the O2 sensor.
Feb 13, 2012· Re: CTSC: Best location for Intake Air Temp Sensor. Originally Posted by dynomike. the best place is directly in the sc manifold. The cast piece that bolts onto the cylinder heads. You will have to remove it to drill and tap the manifold for the IAT sensor. I would recommend a open element sensor like the GM one.
Jun 15, 2021· The Intake Air Temperature Sensor is located somewhere on your intake pipes between the air filter and the intake manifold. It is often integrated with the MAF Sensor. Often, it is also installed on the intake manifold. The intake air temperature sensor’s location is not standard due to different locations in a variety of designs.
Feb 21, 2017· Some users install the IAT sensor in the air intake duct. Are you trying to avoid heat soak? Have you even tuned the Air Temperature Enrichment % table ? May God''s grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ. ''92 Ford Mustang GT: 385" SBF, Dart SHP block, TFS T/W 11R 205 heads, 232°244° duration/.623" lift/114° LSA camshaft, 12:1 C/R, TFS ...
The IAT sensor (Intake Air Temperature) will usually be located on the intake hose between the filter box and the throttle body, or possibly in the filter box itself. The yellow and black wire are what you must hook to on your MAF on the Cobalt, this is your IAT wires. Dodge Dakota IAT Location:
Mar 02, 2004· RE: "Proper" intake air temp (IAT) sensor location.... The IAT does alter the timing and fuel mixture in most cars. It also can be coordinated with the engine temperature sensor by the computer to determine if this is a "cold start" and the computer should run in the "warmup" mode.
PreAir Intake Temperature Sensor. In the cold side charge pipe is usually an easier or less intrusive nozzle location for most user''s than the IC exit tank, but still the closer to IC the better. Locating the nozzle here has same advantage as the reason given above (location 3). 5. After Air Intake Sensor.
Dec 19, 2010· Location 3. Unplug the Engine Sensor Harness from the Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Temperature Sensor. 4. Remove the old sensor and install the new sensor. Torque to 35 Nm (26 lbft). 5. Inspect the connector on the Engine Sensor Harness for signs of corrosion. If corrosion is found, replace the sensor connector pigtail. 6. The Intake Manifold ...
Nov 21, 2012· This sensor can be bought through a dealership, or one can use a standard intake temperature sensor that''s used by most speed density driven ECU''s. (Autronic, Syvecs or AEM for example.) This is a 2 pin pin goes to a good ground (I used a 2 wire shielded cable, and used the ECU ground, as I already had to run a wire to the ECU for ...
May 06, 2007· More air flow at a higher temp (less density) doesn’t do us any good. Look for a design that takes advantage of factory ambient intake air routing. Second, mass air flow placement in a replacement intake tube is generally a matter of convenience instead of deliberate design. The mass air flow sensor (MAF) is generally regarded as an air meter ...
Aug 26, 2016· The intake air temperature (IAT) sensor, otherwise known as the air charge temperature sensor, is used by the powertrain control module (PCM) to determine the temperature (and therefore the density) of air entering the engine. Typically, the PCM sends a 5volt reference to the IAT sensor.

Jul 01, 2018· So while the true temp of the air in the intake tube may be 80 degrees, the IAT sensor may be reading as high as 95100 degrees. This may not seem like a big deal, but the IAT sensor readings provide the PCM with a lot of data, and with this data the PCM decides how much fuel and timing should be used at any given time.
